Power off, push the carriage gently end to end, clear rail obstructions and dried ink.

Wipe the encoder strip one-way with alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Visually check the belt for slack, skipped or worn teeth.

Power off 10 minutes, then restart once and observe.
